What research says

The first thing you'll notice about the Oster is the weight. The Oster BPST02 is a solid machine. The build quality on both of the blenders we compare here is good, but the Oster has a noticeable added touch of quality and style. The Braun MX2050 Powermax is chock-full of features in comparison to the Oster. There's plenty of room in the Braun's 58-ounce glass jar, which is a full 18-ounces more than Oster's blender and five speed settings plus a pulse setting allow for some great blending options.

In comparing the Braun MX2050 PowerMax and the Oster BPST02 the practical test of actually blending is the best way to get a feel for these machines and easily the Oster makes short work of the task. Since the Oster is only 2 speed and very high power it specializes in whipping up things in a flash. The clean simple design also add to the appeal and decor according to people who have purchased the unit.

In considering which blender to buy, think of the types of things you'll be blending, how much you'll need to blend and how much use you'll get from the blender. Oster has a warranty that's three times longer than Braun's, but a much smaller capacity.
