What research says

Both of these cams have very similar feature sets and crystal clear 2.7 TFT LCD screens the same great 680k pixel resolution. Only research shows a steady leaning to the Canon DC210. The Canon features a Dolby Digital AC-3 codec for great sound and even better capability if you run sound into the camera itself.

The Samsung SCDC173 Strikes back with a strong feature set and an LED video light for great low light shooting, and they also up the ante with a genuine Schneider lens and tone of input/output options.

Considerations are largely price and brand loyalty. The Samsung does give you a bit more for your money and it\'s less money. If you are a fan of Canon, you will not be disappointed with this model at this price point.

Gabriel, thank you for visiting Compare The Brands for your product research. These two cameras were very close in price, features and quality so we could not pull out a "clear" winner. As you will see from our other comparisons and reviews this is not always the case.

However, we did say "The Samsung does give you a bit more for your money and it's less money," which indicates that Samsung is a slightly better deal than the Canon DC210 Mini-DVD Camcorder. I went ahead and added an "Editor's Pick" logo next to the Samsung SCDC173 DVD Camera for this reason.
