What research says

Research reveals that both intake systems are a lot alike. Both are made from aluminum and both come with a life time guarantee. Both the K&N and AEM intakes come in red, blue, or polished.

Both come with complete hard ware kits and install in minutes. The only big difference is the filters. k&n comes with a cotton filter that needs to be oiled to prevent from rust from the wire cage that surrounds the cotton filter that can also trap dirt. AEM uses a dry flow filter that does not need to be oiled and filters 99.4 percent of harmful dirt and dust. This was the deciding factor in why I chose AEM as the Editor's pick.

The editor doesn't seem to know why K&N filters NEED to be oiled, and I'm not sure why an AEM filter would have a "license bracket." Also, I've definitely seen that the AEMs are more expensive, not the same. Despite some errors, my research finally led me to choose the AEM for a Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins
