What research says

The category of running shoe is full of competition, the most big factors here are the weight of the shoe, the motion control ability of the shoe and the stability of the runner. Our online reviews of customer satisfaction put Fila and New Balance at the top. We found customers almost always happy with the mileage they got out of the shoe and the build quality of the New Balance 817 and the Fila Flow Reckoning III. All of the shoes we compare take steps to benefit the runner who's prone to overpronation. New Balance comes to the comparisons table with a lightweight shoe for a great value at $90 as opposed to the Adidas at $130. The 817 by New Balance comes in a wide array of sizes and provides great midsole support giving you a shoe you can keep on for the long run. The Fila also ranked high with similar features.

The Adidas adiStar Control 4 is a good shoe but according to online consumer reviews most runners tend to prefer it as a sprinting and short distance shoe. While it certainly can be worn for long distance runs its truth is in the short burst. With features like their QuickStrike outsole, it's suited for maneuverability and control.

The Asics GEL-Foundation 7 is a great blend of the three shoes above. A huge benefit is the memory foam which creates a personalized fit for comfortable long wear and Asics combination of good pricing and powerful features make it an ideal running shoe for even the most active runners.
