What research says

As we compare the MTD Yard-Man and the Poulan Pro self-propelled lawnmowers we find some basic and important similarities, the both offer a nice wide cutting deck for small to medium-large lawns and are both self-propelled pullers. Build quality is great on both units.

Important differences in your consideration are that the MTD Yard-Man is a landscapers tool with its oversized 12-inch wheel and 9-level height adjustment. While the Poulan Pro is less adjustable it boasts a Briggs and Stratton motor with 30cc's more power over the Yard-Man's 160cc Honda, which is great for speed and mulching. If your lawn or landscape area has rocks, stone or is otherwise uneven you may want to consider the MTD for its height adjustments, otherwise the Poulan Pro self-propelled lawn mowers have the power to save you time.
