What research says

Hawaiian Air actually has more U.S. departure spots such as Los Angeles; they also offered me a choice of departure times whereas Aloha Air only had one flight that day both from Las Vegas and Honolulu. Hawaiian Air operates internationally as opposed to Aloha with flights to and from the U.S. and Hawaii only. These prices DID NOT include taxes and restrictions.

The web interface on Hawaiian Air is clean and efficent, however Aloha Air's website was quick and offered sale pricing which unfortunately was only cheaper when first-class was selected.

In considering your choice think first of your departure spot, you may save money by flying from Las Angeles instead of Vegas on Hawaiian Airlines, but Aloha did not offer flights from LA to Hawaii at this time.

I've flown from the mainland to Honolulu and from Honolulu to the mainland many times on many different airlines, going to Vegas, LA, San Fran... I have to say that Hawaiian Airlines was by far the best, even in comparison to the major airlines that fly everywhere, such as Delta, etc.

By the way, those websites like Travelocity and places that are supposed to find cheaper tickets are almost ALWAYS more expensive than just going straight to the airline. At least that has been my experience. The only exception I've found was when booking packages with hotels and car rentals combined with air fair.

Good luck and Aloha!
