What research says The Wise Bread blog for living on a small budget is in my Bloglines feed reader and regularly visited, although I will probably add Frugal for Life now as well. Zlittle is a pretty good blog, but one can only deal with so many "frugal living" blogs at one time and so I probably won't end up subscribing It is worth a read though, and perhaps you might like it yourself - Go find out!
Here is what you can expect from these three frugal living blogs: Wise Bread: Written by Andrea Dickson, this is an extremely prolific blog. Rarely does a day go by without at least two posts, usually with great pictures and sound advice. The downside is that you occasionally get the impression that they are trying to sell you something, or that they are being paid in some way to blog about a certain product or promotion. But hey - they have to make a living somehow, and I've been very entertained from this blog if nothing else. Editors Choice! Frugal for Life: Proof that a blog hosted on the free blogspot.com domain doesn't have to be amateurish, Frugal for Life has a good mix of personal pontification on things like the taste of free toothpaste, and frugal money saving tips like using newspapers instead of paper towels to clean your windows (they actually work better; I tried it!). Zlittle Frugal Living: Maybe it is because I'm a guy and this blog seems to be very female-centric, but I wasn't very impressed by the first few posts I read, which included DIY manicure tips and weight loss diaries. However, a few posts later I started seeing things like growing your own organic foods in small gardens, tips to win bids on eBay, and other blog entries that were more geared toward both sexes. I have a feeling I caught this blog at the wrong time, which is why it has a 3 instead of a 2. If you are still hungry for more ways to save money, check out this post on http://www.getrichslowly.org/. It gets the honorable mention of the day since technically it isn't a blog-only site, but does have a great blog and a section about saving time and money. Other honorable mentions include: Christian Thrifty Mom (http://christianthriftymom.blogspot.com/), My Money and My Life (http://storiedmoney.blogspot.com/) and the Frugal Law Student (http://www.frugallawstudent.com/) which isn't just for law students. Enjoy!
