What research says

The Canon Pixma iP6700D is one of the best photo printers I've seen under $200. Colors have depth and other users rave about how photographer friendly this unit is. The build quality is definitely stronger than the Epson, which has a very plastic look and feel. The Canon's adjustable LCD is also quite handy. Side by side print comparisons show that the Canon's sharpness and detail we better than the Epson, due largely to the fact that the Canon is a higher resolution printer. Consider if you'll be scanning much, if so then the Epson is a good entry point, if you care more for printing and photo printing in particular then give the Canon a closer look.
