What research says

When we chose to compare middle range priced digital cameras we looked for brands that have a history in photography and brands like Hewlett Packard that have more of a computer history and here\'s what we found.

As expected the HP R927 is light and highly functional with tons of digital features and great connectivity through the included docking station that lets you print, edit, transfer and more without the hassle of constantly connecting or disconnecting cables and swapping storage cards. The HP R927 has a big 3-inch LCD, bigger than Canon\'s PowerShot A640 and the overall design is sleek and compact.

It was not suprising that the Canon however was the better camera with more megapixels than the HP for big detailed enlargements, and our favorite feature was the swing-out LCD panel which lets you get the perfect framing for timer shots when you want to be in the picture too. The PowerShot A640 also has a better build quality and good ergonomics like the grip on the right side of the unit which give you more of a traditional feel as well as providing stability for your shots. The manual adjustment on the Canon are also stronger so that when you want to get creative, you\'ll have more options. These units are typically priced closely, clearly for people love photography the Canon PowerShot A640 may be a better option than the mostly point and click HP .
