First in our review is the Black Diamond Trail Back Trekking Poles. Black Diamond's most prominent feature is the FlickLock adjustment. This system locks allows the pole adjustments to lock in place without the need for complicated internal mechanisms, so it works whether the poles are wet, frozen, or covered with mud. Its three-section design also comes in handy when you want to break down the poles for storage or transport. Black Diamond rounds out it's features with rubber grips with nylon webbing, long flex tips, and low profile trekking baskets and powder baskets.

Next up is the Mountainsmith Carbonlite Pro trekking poles. These poles are the cheapest in our review today, but still offer all of the standard features found in quality trekking poles. First, they are ultralight and ideal for long days on the trails. Next, they have cork grips that provide a comfortable feel and hand hold for miles of hiking. The Carbonlite Pro also offers an Anti-shock absorption system, whereas, the poles gives a bit when they strike the ground reducing stress on your body. Lastly, Mountainsmith uses a quick-twist locking system. Just adjust the height of your poles and twist the locking mechanism and your ready to go.

The Leki Sierra SAS is the last, but not least, on our review today. Leki claims the heat-treated aluminum used in their poles in the strongest available and that their Super Lock System, which allows the length to be adjusted with the least amount of torque, offers the most secure hold of any other pole locking system in the world. Big claims by Leki, but their history and reputation has shown they are one of the best and leading trekking pole companies out there. Another leading edge feature of this trekking pole is it has a camera mount. A wooden knop on top of the poles unscrews exposing a screw you can use to mount a camera and take stationary photos. And the Sierra SAS doesn't forgot the standards such as replaceable carbide flextips, a rubber tip attachment, soft anti-shock system, comfortable foam grips and, of course, a lifetime warranty on the aluminum shafts. These come seperately, but you can easily purchase two to make a pair.

The winner of today's review is the Leki Sierra SAS. It has a great warranty and the most advanced features of all the pole reviews today, not to mention Leki has been known as one of the best and most reliable trekking poles companies for years. Choosing second place between the The Moutainsmith and Black Diamond is tough. They both have great features, but personally I would purchase the Mountainsmith over the Black Diamond because the Black Diamond doesn't have an anti-shock system. I prefer the anti-shock system when I hike, but I have met many hikers who like the rigid feel of not having this system. So, if you're not into the Leki poles any of the others would be a good choice.
