What research says The Nikon features start with a multi-coated lens system which allows for up to 90% light transmission which is very helpful in distinguishing game from its surroundings such as timber and brush. It also has a geat Field of View (FOV) range at 100 yards. 34 feet at 4 power and 11 feet at 9 power. Another key feature of the Nikon is the use of sealed nitrogen on the inside of the scope, this guarantees a moisture and fog free view all the time. But, the stand out feature of this scope is the bullet drop compensating (BDC) reticle. This trajectory-compensating system allows for simple and fast aiming points at various distances. Unlike other scopes you don't have to worry about changing elevation settings on the scope or guess your way through a shot at various distances.
The Mark III is a tactical scope and I have seen game hunters use them. Unless your looking for a perfect sniper shot, they are just as good as any traditional "rifle" scope. Like the Nikon, the Mark III also has multi-coated lenses for clairity and is waterproof and fogproof. The FOV is a bit better than the Nikon measuring 36 feet at 3 power and and 12 feet at 9 power and features wind and elevations settings for the perfect shot. The Mark III rounds out its review by including a back-up Red Dot REflex sight and a quick focus eye relief. Last on our review is the Bushnell Trophy XLT. Bushnell has been making quality binoculars and scopes for a long time and even state the Trophy XLT is America's best selling scope. This scope features some of the same qualities as the NIkon and Mark III. For instance, it is nitrogen filled to make it waterproof and fogproof, it has a 91 percent light transmission for excellent clarity and it has a fast focus eyepiece. But, unlike the other scopes the lacks in FOV. It only shows 29 feet at 4 power and 10 feet at 12 power. So what does this mean? The Bushnell is a quality scope has many of the features as the Nikon and Mark III, but underperforms in the FOV department, and considering it is almost $20 more why not look closer at the Mark III and NIkon? The Mark III slightly overperforms the Nikon in FOV, but the Nikon's bullet dropping compensation is a big bonus in hunting at greater distances. I would pick this feature over a few extra yards of view at 100 yards anyday. It could mean the difference between a great kill shot or a few hours of tracking your wounded game.
