What research says When reading over the consumer reviews for Proticall, one customer was very satisfied and another one said she used it and after three days the fleas and ticks were still alive and well. The customer reviews for the Frontline product were much better, with all three giving five out of five stars and saying you can get more than 30 days out of a treatment.
One brand of dog flea and tick repellant is cheap and moderately effective, and the other is somewhat expensive and highly effective. The difference is in the main ingredients (permathrin VS fipronil). Both are insecticides with the same potential side effects, including hair loss, rash, irritation, and temporary soreness.
